Description

RnaUsScript™ Apex Reverse Transcriptase is an engineered fusion reverse transcriptase (RT) designed to deliver high-performance cDNA synthesis of RNA templates up to 12 kb. It provides higher cDNA yield, exceptional sensitivity, and robust reverse transcription at elevated reaction temperatures of up to 65°C, making it ideal for challenging RNA templates with complex secondary structures. RnaUsScript Apex RT is a single-polypeptide enzyme with an approximate molecular weight of 77 kDa. It is an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase that synthesizes complementary DNA (cDNA) from a single-stranded RNA template using an annealed primer (1). Through protein engineering, RnaUsScript Apex RT exhibits enhanced processivity, superior thermal stability, and improved inhibitor tolerance, r esulting in increased cDNA yield, greater target detection sensitivity, and reliable performance in demanding RT-PCR and RT-qPCR applications. The enzyme is expressed in E. coli and purified to be free of exogenous RNase activity, a common contaminant in commercial preparations of reverse transcriptase.
